On Thursday the 16th of December a Christmas tree was erected by Knaphill Baptist Church in the centre of Knaphill for the very first time. And at 4:30 in the afternoon about thirty people from the community gathered in the old library garden to witness the lights being turned on and to sing carols accompanied by four members of Bisley Brass Band.
We were all enjoying ourselves when thirty minutes into the event it started hailing heavily and the singing had to be curtailed. We hope we will be more fortunate with the weather next year! Fortunately, the tree, with its lights, will remain in the centre of the village over the Christmas festivities.
