We’re delighted to announce that our invitation to joint ministry has been accepted by Revd Dr Pieter and Dr Hetty Lalleman who will join us in the New Year.
For the last 20 years Pieter has taught biblical studies at Spurgeon’s College, a training centre for prospective Baptist Ministers and others interested in developing their service to the Lord more formally. A prolific author and book reviewer, Pieter will be retaining his existing extra-curricular role as Editor of the European Journal of Theology and maintaining ties with Spurgeon’s as a Senior Research Fellow. We’re looking forward to an immersion in the richness of what the Bible has to say to us today! Pieter will be our minister, typically working 4-5 days a week.
Hetty will take the office of Community Pastor, reflecting her love of working with people, and keen interests in outreach to the local community and in pastoral care. As Knaphill, like the rest of the world, reels from the impact of Covid on lives, health and livelihoods, being able to place Hetty at the centre of the Village community is very exciting. Hetty has also taught at Spurgeon’s but more recently has been an active member of their local Baptist Church, championing mission to the community.
They will be joined by their retired greyhound Lucy.
We look forward to introducing them to you!
